Eunice is a fifth generation Texan, whose ancestors moved to Texas in the early 1800s with Stephen F. Austin's original colony. Her great, great grandfather Hughes opted along with Sam Houston not to secede from the Union, prior to the outbreak of the Civil War. She was reared on a farm south of Victoria, Texas, with five brothers and four sisters.
Eunice moved to Houston in 1961, and enjoyed a strong and varied legal and corporate secretarial background for 12 plus years prior to her entry into the residential real estate industry in 1973, starting with John Daugherty Realtors in southwest Houston.
Eunice became a Residential Real Estate Broker in 1981. Her educational designations acquired through the years include Graduate of the Realtors Institute, Accredited Buyers' Representative, as well as the Certified Residential Specialist designation, joining the top 5% of Realtors nationwide.
She has been a member of the RE/MAX International Hall of Fame since 1982, placing her in the top 2% of all RE/MAX Realtors nationwide. In 2006, Eunice received RE/MAX's Lifetime Achievement Award.
She has been "Quietly Selling Kingwood since 1976," when she and her husband, Rod, and their son, Matt, moved to Kingwood. Shortly after arriving, Eunice became the sales manager for Livable Forest Realty. As a manager, Eunice was instrumental in building the firm to 15 agents, at which time the firm merged with Points North Realty, and grew to 30 agents as the Livable Forest Gallery of Homes.
Through the years, Eunice has consistently been recognized as one of the areas top producing and respected Realtors, for her knowledge and expertise in the industry.
Eunice became the first RE/MAX Agent in Kingwood! At a national Realtors' convention in 1978, Eunice was first introduced to the RE/MAX organization concept, and shared this information with her fellow Associates.
In August of 1979, Eunice and seven other successful local Realtors helped develop what ultimately became RE/MAX Northeast, one of Houston's premier RE/MAX offices. As of September 1, 2002, RE/MAX Northeast merged with RE/MAX Associates to become RE/MAX Associates Northeast, with over 75 agents, and moved into their newly constructed office at 2940 Oak Street in the Town Center of Kingwood.
Kingwood had approximately 5,000 residents at the time Eunice arrived in 1976. Her personal warmth, dedication, and concern for both buyers and sellers cemented many of her client relationships into personal friendships that continue today. Many of her clients she has sold to over the past 40+ years are children of her original clients. The experience gained through the years has been invaluable to the new buyers and sellers in the market today, as there have been many significant changes within the industry. Her ability to satisfy her clients accounts for the fact that 90% of her business comes from referrals and repeat business. Between Kingwood, Dallas, and California Eunice has helped one family move five times.
Eunice assisted FamilyTime Foundation in its initial years of development as a Board member for seven years, and continues to support FamilyTime Foundation and The Door, as well as many local charities and organizations, including Mothers Against Cancer and the Kingwood Country Club's Women's Gold Association.
Eunice is a member of the Houston Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. She is also a member of the Women's Council of Realtors and served as past President of the Northeast Multiple Listing Service through the Houston Association of Realtors.
Assisted in the office since 1983 by Rod, her husband and licensed Real Estate partner, Eunice has an experienced and detail oriented staff to support the needs of her many clients.
